We're thrilled to welcome Gina of Gina Heart Lifestyle to our blog today. She's a huge traveler - she's visited 55 countries and she just graduated from college! - and after an upcoming vacation to Antarctica, she will have visited every continent. We're excited to have Gina sharing some travel stories and tips with us.
Where are you from originally? I grew up in the beautiful city of Rolling Hills near Palos Verdes California.
You've traveled a ton! What’s the next trip on your itinerary? I’ll be attending a wedding in Hong Kong and Bali, Indonesia. Might need some Lydali items to keep my look fresh and unique! :)
What's a place you want to go back to again and again? I’d say Italy. I’ve been there about 6 times on different occasions and studied fashion in Florence. I just love the culture there, the food, the fashion, the language, kisses on the cheeks and let’s not forget waving arms and loud Italian voices! The people there are so enthusiastic yet laid back, and it always reminds me to live life with passion and enjoy myself no matter the circumstances (even when my favorite gelato shop is closed for siesta).
What's your favorite thing you've brought back from your travels? Tough question. I’d have to say, my new perspective. I always subconsciously learn something valuable that helps inform or enlighten my life when I’m back at home. Otherwise, I always bring back a good old fashion post card. Every time I visit a new place, I send myself a postcard and write down everything I did there. That way, I’ll have a picture, the country stamp, and my own mini journal to look back on. I also try to bring back a ring from every place I visit, one that reflects the culture and my experiences there. Can you guess where each ring is from?
If you could visit one country Lydali works in, which country would it be? Lydali works in so many amazing places! I would pick Afghanistan. I personally think there is a beautiful and under-appreciated culture there that I would love to go see.
What Lydali items would you want to pack for your next trip? I am definitely eyeing the Ofi Clutch. I always travel light, and a small over-the-shoulder bag is my go-to. It frees up my hands so I can soak in the city and try on lots of fun rings!
What are some travel essentials you never forget to pack? Boy… I am always over prepared. Except for when I was 7, I forgot to pack underwear for a one-week trip! Otherwise, I never forget to pack a scarf. Even if I’m going someplace warm, I always freeze on plane flights. Feeling warm and cozy with a big scarf prevents me from being uncomfortable right when I’m about to land someplace amazing!
