Travel blogger series: Puje of The Fashionel Diaries
We're thrilled to welcome Puje of The Fashionel Diary to our blog today. We've been crushing on her gorgeous style and photography, and we're excited to have her sharing some travel stories and advice with us.
What's your home town? I am from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I would say my hometown is an interesting place to visit because of its vast history. Mongolia is a very small country, but it has a very beautiful landscape and friendly people.
Where do you live now? Right now I live in the United Kingdom because I am studying in university. I'm really enjoying living here, it is just so beautiful! When I first came to the UK, I did not expect this many breathtaking coastlines and fascinating historic buildings. Also, there are so many different nationalities, so I get to experience different cultures and make very very different friends!
Where was the last place you visited? This March, I went to Milan, Italy. I just loved the shopping, the culture, the language and the food there. I only visited for a week, but it was enough to convince me to learn Italian, I think it is such a beautiful language. I would definitely recommend going there!
What's next on your itinerary? This July I am going on family vacation to Hawaii. I am very excited for it, since I have never been to that side of the world yet! Mongolians are usually very close with their nuclear family, that is why it is 11 of us. Visit my blog in the summer to check the photos :).
What's a place you want to go back to again and again? I would say Shanghai. I've been there twice and both times it was amazing. It has great shopping, sightseeing and great warm weather! Winters in Mongolia can get up to -30C, so escaping to another warm country is like heaven for us.
What are your travel essentials, and what's your favorite thing you've brought back from your travels? When I'm on vacation, I like to travel light. I only bring few things, so I can fill up my suitcase with the things I buy from that country! My essentials are: a great book, ipod, sunscreen and sunglasses. Every time I travel, I bring back small souvenirs from that country. Be it a small spoon or small monument of Big Ben, I love to keep them all. My favourite one would be a small shell collage I bought in 2007 from a Chinese Island called Hainan.
If you could visit one country Lydali works in, which country would it be? I would love to visit South Africa. It looks like a beautiful country with amazing coastlines and beaches!
What Lydali items would you want to pack for your next trip?
There are many items I would choose, but for travelling I think I would bring the hand hammered bombshell bangles
and wood and leather bangles
. They are very versatile, and I think they could go with anything from a bikini to a simple white dress.
