Hi everyone! Today we talked with Canadian fashion blogger Joanne at White Roses and Coffee. Her life started as a nomadic journey from sultry Haiphong, Vietnam all the way to Vancouver. Joanne loves traveling to sparkling beach locations as well as dense metropolitan hubs in Asia. Check out her story and photos! Be sure to follow her out on Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram!

1. What's your home town?

I was born in Vietnam but I came to Canada when I was five.  I would love to return to Haiphong (my birthplace city) and explore the rural village in which my parents and grandparents were brought up in.

2. Where do you live now?

I live in Vancouver, BC.  Vancouver is known as one of the most beautiful and most liveable cities in the world and am glad to call it my home!

3. What's the last trip you've taken?

I went to Cuba last summer.  We stayed at a beautiful resort and had a chance to see Havana.  Cuba is a place full of beautiful architecture, rich culture, and lively music.  It's my kind of vacation.

I was also fortunate to visit Maldives the year before.  I fell in love with Maldives the moment I saw the deep blue sea. We stayed at an overwater bungalow where there is a ladder that leads to the ocean for swimming and kayaking.  It was absolutely magnificent.  This is definitely one of the most memorable trip that I've been on. There is no place like Maldives.

4. What's the next trip on your itinerary?

I'm hoping to travel to Australia next year.  I want to see the beautiful architecture.  I want to see the wildlife - kangaroos, koala bears, and kookaburras.  Australia is a perfect vacation for our winter months since their seasons are opposites ours in Canada.  I'd love to catch a show at the amazing Opera House.

5. What's a place you want to go back to again and again?

I've been to Hong Kong six times and never seem to get bored with the city.  Although Hong Kong is one of the most populous cities in the world, it is one of most phenomenal places I have ever visited.  The views are spectacular.  As are the markets, night life, shopping...and the list goes on.  The best thing about Hong Kong is the food.  They have amazing food for every cuisine and price.

6. What's your favorite thing you've brought back from your travels?

I brought back a beautiful large shell from Cancun a few years ago.  It's sitting on my mantel right now and reminds me of the warm beaches and turquoise waters that envelopes Cancun.

7. If you could visit one country Lydali works in, which country would it be?

I'd love to visit the Philippines.  My friends have been there and fell in love with the country.  I'm a huge fan of hot and exotic places.  Philippines boasts the most beautiful beaches, mountains and landscapes.  I also love the friendly and welcoming nature of Filipinos. I also heard that over 90% of the population speaks English.  It's definitely a country that I'd love to explore.

8. What are your travel essentials?

My travel essentials include an LBD (at least one), ballet flats, and a versatile cuff to accessorize any outfit.  I always bring a pair of oversized sunglasses and my ipod (how else will I get through 12-hr flights!)  A big tote is also vital in carrying all my essentials.  Lastly, a trip is not complete without visually documenting everything on my very reliable and precious camera.

9. What Lydali items would you want to pack for your next trip?

I'd love to pack the wooden and leather bangles.  I would stack them with my gold bangles to incorporate some attitude to my outfits!

Thanks Joanne, for sharing your travels with us! The pictures are stunning! Wishing we were in Maldives right now! For more information about Joanne Vuong check out her blog White Roses and Coffee here!

I don’t know whether it’s just me or if everyone else encountering issues with your website. It appears as if some of the written text on your content are running off the screen. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them too? This could be a issue with my browser because I’ve had this happen before. Cheers
First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thank you!
